Gandalf of course! Who else could it be?
Gandalf returns from the dead so to speak, and is now clothed
entirely in white instead of gray. Gandalf states that he is
what Saruman should have been. When Gandalf takes back
Theoden's mind from Saruman, it shows that he is now more
powerful than Saruman.
The song displays Gandalf's power and wisdom
in a good-natured way, beginning with his reappearance to
Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. His assistance will be vital in
the future as it has been in the past.
