The Steward of Gondor

This song shows the confrontation between Denethor, Steward of Gondor, and Gandalf. Denethor has been corrupted by looking into a seeing stone of Numenor, which Sauron has used to force his will upon Denethor. Denethor can forsee only his doom, and the death of Boromir brings him great sadness.

Pippin volunteers his service to Denethor, which pleases him, and becomes the King's personal aide. At one point, Denethor calls for Pippin to sing, which he does. Here are the lyrics to his part:
