Concerning Hobbits

This track begins to display Shore's magnificence with the entire scoring. The tone that is set for the Shire is perfect in every way. Shore uses the string instruments to beautifully create an aura of well-being, happiness, and simpleness about the Shire. The song has an "earthy" feel to it which brings out the immensely lush and green Shire. While this song is playing in the movie, the viewer sees the Shire from a bird's eye view, and Bilbo. This song also defines Bilbo as a sort of hermit; very quaint and eager to keep to himself. Finally, the song displays the apparent availability of everything to Hobbits; plenty of food, space, fresh air, ale, and pipe weed! This song displays the Shire as a spectacular place to be.
