At the Sign of the Prancing Pony
This song highlights the town of Bree. It
begins with the Hobbits' entry into the city and then the
Prancing Pony Inn. Then, the Black Riders enter the city
forcefully and with great malice. With their horses going
rabid in the streets and the faceless riders upon them, none
dare to approach or confront them. The Hobbits manager to hide
and escape being seen for the time being with the help of
Strider. Since Frodo accidentally put on the Ring at the Inn,
the Riders are drawn quickly to the Inn but when he takes it
off the Riders cannot locate him.
The Riders sense the Ring when it is worn,
and are drawn quickly to the power it radiates. However, they
are bound to Sauron's will and it is not possible for
them to disobey him. They would simply get the Ring to
bring back to Sauron. Therefore, they make perfect servants
who are attempting to retrieve the Ring at all costs. |
