A Storm is Coming
The opening song for Return of the King in
the Lord of the Rings, this song displays the outlook for the
final film. It shows it as one of difficult times ahead. It is
appropriately named, for a storm is indeed coming out of the
East in an attempt to swallow up Men.
There is some notes of the Shire in this
song as well. It gives the beginning of the film a happy
beginning. The use of the strings is very effective
here.
The song also shows how Smeagol came upon
the Ring by killing his friend Deagol. It gives the viewer a
broader sense of how consumed by the Ring Smeagol is.
